DOGS TRUST

The NCDL Slogan

"A Dog is for Life  .  .  .

Not Just for Christmas"

This page is dedicated to my favourite dog charity, the NCDL.   They are the UK's largest dog rescue charity committed to helping find homes for lost or abandoned dogs through their network of rescue homes throughout the UK.

Their work also involves promoting responsible dog ownership and campaigning for better legislation for the welfare of dogs both within the UK and across the world.   They also help homeless people that own dogs through their wonderful "Hope Project" and are involved in many other area's concerned with the betterment of our beloved canine friends.

I think the most wonderful thing that I love about the NCDL is their policy that no healthy dog should ever be put to sleep.   They take care of many dogs who, through no fault of their own, are either too old, ill or mentally scared to be re-homed.

HOW CAN WE HELP

The NCDL receives no public funding or National Lottery Grants for their work.   They rely entirely on people like us to finance themselves.   There are many ways that we, as dog lovers, can help the NCDL.

Adopt a Dog   Why not give a home to one their many dogs.

Membership   Show your support by becoming a member of the NCDL.

Donations   Make a donation today.   Click Here

"Faithful Friends"   Leave a legacy in your will.

Gift Catalogue   Send for their gift Catalogue in time for Christmas.   All items purchased from their Catalogue provide funding which goes directly to the NCDL to support their work.

Events   Organize your own charity fundraising events in aid of the NCDL.

Spread the Word   Tell all your friends about the NCDL.

"Sponsor a Dog"   Many of the permanent residents in their 15 rescue centres across the UK may be sponsored to provide for their welfare.   This is a really wonderful project which I would urge all dog lovers to get involved in.   I now sponsor Henry-Ramsey who lives at the Shoreham-by-Sea rescue centre.  He is a Corgi Cross and has lived at the Shoreham centre since 1995.   He's a wonderful dog who I had the pleasure of meeting when I visited the centre recently.   Could he be your sponsor dog or maybe one of the many other sponsor dogs living at the various NCDL rescue centres around the country.
